Position Overview:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep and repair of machinery, tools, and the overall facility in a Thermal Coating & Machining job shop. This includes preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of thermal spray equipment, robotics, CNC machines, manual machines, compressors, HVAC systems, and other shop equipment to ensure optimal production efficiency and safety standards.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Machine Maintenance and Repairs:

Perform routine maintenance on thermal spray equipment, robotics, CNC and manual machines.

Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.

Inspections of overhead cranes and lifting devices.


Facility Maintenance:

Inspect and repair facility infrastructure, including lighting, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems.

Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.


Preventive Maintenance:

Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all shop equipment.

Document maintenance activities and ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications.


Tooling and Equipment Management:

Assist in the setup and maintenance of tooling and fixtures for machines.

Replace worn or damaged parts and maintain spare parts inventory.


Safety Compliance:

Adhere to all OSHA and company safety policies.

Participate in safety inspections and audits.


Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with production staff to schedule maintenance with minimal impact on production.

Communicate with vendors for parts procurement and technical support.


Skills and Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or GED required. A technical certificate or associate degree in maintenance, machining, or a related field is preferred.

Experience:

2+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a machining or manufacturing environment.

Hands-on experience with CNC machines, overhead cranes and material handling equipment.


Technical Skills:

Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.

Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.


Soft Skills:

Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.


Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Standing, bending, and working in confined spaces for extended periods.

Comfortable working in a noisy and industrial environment.


Preferred Skills:

Experience with predictive maintenance tools and technologies.

Basic welding and fabrication skills.

Basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications.
