Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of writing and editing experience, ideally within the culinary beat
  • Possess a deep understanding of the NEW food landscape, its hot newcomers, its iconic spots and its experimental new entries
  • Exhibit exceptional taste in writing and storytelling, adept at working over copy until it’s perfectly seasoned and ready to serve
  • Demonstrate a proven ability to cultivate and sustain a network of sources within the culinary community
  • Experience in digital content, social media and a passion for multimedia storytelling
  • Hold a bachelor's degree, preferably in journalism, communications, or a related field
  • 30 hours per quarter 


Responsibilities

Conceive, assign and edit stories at the intersection of culinary arts and culture, diving into the flavors, trends, and personalities that define the Northeast Wisconsin region food, farm, artisan and restaurant scene.


Help writers curate the best of our local culinary world, unearthing the secrets of the restaurant scene, and introducing the people shaping the industry


Represent the edible standard at foodie-forward events.


Assist reporters in developing and maintaining a robust network of contacts within the culinary community


Collaborate seamlessly with editors, photographers, multimedia experts, and other talented journalists to transform rock stories into immersive experiences across various platforms
