Opioid use disorder continues to pose significant health, social, and economic challenges to our state. Medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD) is the gold standard treatment for opioid use disorder. Yet only a fraction of Americans who need this treatment receive it. Many myths and inaccuracies among patients and providers surrounding this approach overshadow the evidence of MOUD’s benefits.
