Financial Analyst

Summary

This role is responsible for providing business partners, JM management teams and senior leaders in the organization financial analysis and information needed to make operational, financial, and strategic decisions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Assist in the preparation and reconciliation of monthly financial reports and company performance across key metrics that informs management on the progress and effectiveness of the company’s strategic plans and investments
  • Analyze financial reporting, performing variance analysis, and identify trends, projecting future implications and impacts
  • Create charts and graphics to illustrate financial results and trends
  • Develop automated and repeatable processes (in excel and other relational database systems) to improve productivity
  • Assist senior leadership team with forecasting and budget preparation
  • Provide continuous communication and reporting to the organization, including interpretation of progress compared to expectations
  • As requested by P&L business unit owners work on M&A teams by providing financial analysis to aid in valuation review, exhibit builds, and financial due diligence
  • Build partnerships and maintain strong relationships with Cost Center owners and applicable cross functional teams
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information, investment decisions, or any other tasks assigned by the organization

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field is required
  • 0 – 2 years of experience required, 3-4 years preferred
  • Previous experience in the insurance industry is preferred, but not required
  • Must have strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Familiarity with data query/data management tools is extremely helpful
  • Ability to work independently while managing expectations and varying deadlines
