Under general direction of the Airport Director, responsible for all aspects of the Fixed Base Operation (FBO) including financial performance, customer experience, line operations, facility and equipment maintenance, health, safety and environmental functions; performs direct supervision of FBO employees and performs other duties as assigned. The FBO Manager will act as a company liaison in matters related to the airport community and will promote a positive team environment to better serve our customers.
Typical work schedule Monday-Friday 8 A.M-4:30 P.M but will need to be available in this role to answer and respond to operational questions/issues as needed
Key Responsibilities:
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.- Plans, directs, and coordinates all FBO operations in accordance with Appleton Airport, FAA, TSA, and any other governmental and environmental agencies, policies and regulations.
- Provides strong leadership to FBO team through clear communication, motivation, and encouragement; structured and organized actions; positive work environment to ensure highest possible service levels are achieved and employees are encouraged, motivated and reach their potential.
- Manages and drives the financial performance of the FBO, including revenue, expenditures, and appropriate staffing levels to meet or exceed budget, goals, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Ensures friendly and efficient service to our customers and adherence to all customer service, line service, maintenance, and ground support operating procedures.
- Supports existing and creates new relationships with customers, suppliers, and key stakeholders to benefit the FBO and the airport mission.
- Responsible for FBO tenant contracts, including negotiations and enforcement, in coordination with the Airport Director.
- Manages all aspects of fuel operations, including the safe, secure, and accurate operation of the fuel trucks; management of the fuel inventory to conserve fuel costs and margins and ensure fuel quality is maintained; ensures routine inspections and repairs are done in a timely manner and logs are kept in strict compliance with appropriate regulations.
- Establish a culture that promotes safety through daily observations, shift briefings, routine audits, monthly safety meetings, training and documented safety procedures.
- Develop innovative ideas to improve and enhance FBO operations, new business plans with capital requirements and anticipated performance. Prepare the FBO budget with insight for the capability of and opportunities for the FBO.
- Perform leadership functions such as conducting annual reviews, making hiring decisions, and managing performance of direct reports which includes mentoring and skill development.
- Ensure employees receive company communications and necessary training including safety, customer service standards, company values, etc.
- Ensures that the FBO complies with all workplace safety, environmental, and other applicable regulations (ex: OSHA, EPA, Airport).
- Other duties as requested or assigned.
Education/Certifications/Experience Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Aviation Management or related field and/or five (5) to ten (10) years management experience with three or more years of experience in aviation preferred. Must have above average verbal and written communication skills.

Required or Preferred Skills:
- Ability to operate a variety of office machines including computers, copier, fax, scanner, and multi-line telephone.
- Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet programs.
- Ability to hear, speak, walk, stoop, climb, bend, stretch, push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds, understanding and utilizing proper body mechanics.
- Sitting for long periods of time and extensive phone contact.
Language Ability and Interpersonal Communication - Ability to comprehend and analyze complex business operational issues, financial matters, and contracts, leases, and various correspondences.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with direct and indirect reports, public officials, tenants, contractors, engineers, and general public.
- Ability to prepare letter, business plans, memos, fiscal notes, and resolutions.
