BizTalk with Score Joins Statewide Effort to Boost Financial Literacy Across Wisconsin in April

As more than 50% of Wisconsin residents report living paycheck-to-paycheck, the need for robust financial education has never been more urgent. This April, in alignment with "Money Smart Wisconsin" month, the radio show and podcast BizTalk with Score announces a dedicated programming series designed to bridge the gap between business acumen and personal financial stability.

The Economic Reality in Wisconsin
Financial literacy serves as a critical tool for navigating modern economic challenges, including rising consumer debt, student loans, and retirement planning. Current data suggests a significant percentage of Wisconsin adults lack a personal budget, leaving them vulnerable to predatory lending and generational poverty.

By fostering skills in saving, budgeting, and investing, residents are better equipped to handle unforeseen crises, such as medical emergencie, leading to improved mental health and long-term financial well-being.

Statewide Momentum: Act 60 and Beyond
The State of Wisconsin has signaled a major commitment to empowering its citizens through Act 60. This landmark legislation mandates a half-credit of personal financial literacy for high school graduation starting with the Class of 2028.

The Governor’s Council on Financial Literacy and Capability, alongside the Department of Financial Institutions (DFI), continues to lead these efforts through initiatives like "Money Smart Wisconsin." These programs provide essential resources, such as the Financial Wellness Checklist, to help Wisconsinites of all ages master their money management.

BizTalk with Score: Bringing Real-World Education to the Airwaves
BizTalk with Score is amplifying this mission throughout April. The show will feature a lineup of expert guests dedicated to breaking down complex financial topics into actionable insights.

"Financial education is the bridge between a struggling household and a thriving community," says Rick Sense, BizTalk host. "By sharing stories of success and practical 'real-world' advice, we aim to provide our listeners with the tools they need to break cycles of debt and build lasting wealth."

Listeners can tune in to hear expert discussions on:
  • Managing Debt: Navigating student loans and avoiding high-interest pitfalls.
  • Budgeting Foundations: Moving beyond the paycheck-to-paycheck cycle.
  • Investment & Retirement: Ensuring long-term stability in an unpredictable economy.

By aligning with state-led initiatives, BizTalk with Score seeks to support Wisconsin’s overall mission of enhancing financial capability for every resident, from students to retirees. To learn more: www.score.org/northeastwisconsin/local-resources/biztalk-score-podcast.
