Hear ye, hear ye! The Building for Kids Children’s Museum (BFKCM) will host The Amazing CastleTM traveling exhibit from September 21 – January 4.
In this hands-on, immersive exhibit, visitors will travel back in time and step inside a storybook castle, complete with its very own dragon. Families can engage their imaginations by donning costumes and stepping into the roles of various members of the castle community. From entertaining to sewing, each citizen has a special role to play.
“In The Amazing Castle, visitors will be able to experience the interconnectedness of a community firsthand and see how they can play a role that benefits the whole community,” said Oliver Zornow, President of the BFKCM. “We’re excited to add this traveling exhibit to our line-up of play-based learning opportunities and give our visitors something new to explore.”
Exhibit Features:
- Great Hall and Garden – Pick your vegetables, grab an apron, and cook a delicious meal over the fire for family and friends. Cauldron included.
- Royal Puppet Theater – Join the Jester for a performance worthy of royalty. Visitors can become castle entertainers by performing at the puppet theater or sit back and enjoy the show.
- The Royal Workshops – Design and try on costumes in the Tailor Shop, construct some castle furniture at the Carpenter Shop, or work on repairs at the forge in the Blacksmith Shop.
- The Keep – Build the stone walls of your fortress and engage in activities geared toward our youngest visitors.
- The Dragon Tower – Wake Herald, the dragon, who keeps falling asleep on the job!
In addition, the BFKCM will be hosting special events tied to the exhibit, including a 21+ adults-only event, an overnight event where visitors can spend the night in the castle, an exclusive member night, and more.
