Eligible community members are encouraged to make a lifesaving donation as The Community Blood Center (CBC) experiences a critical need for blood and platelets.
There is an especially great need for Type O. CBC is calling for donors of all blood types to book an appointment as soon as possible at any CBC Donor Center or mobile blood drive.
The summer months are historically challenging for maintaining the blood supply. Donating may not be top of mind as family routines change and many schedule vacations and outdoor activities. However, the need for blood never takes a summer break. Donors are vital in ensuring a reliable blood supply year-round.
“Blood cannot be made or manufactured. Patients rely on volunteer donors to get through surgeries, cancer treatments, labor and delivery complications, life-threatening emergencies and more,” Dr. Todd Straus, Vice President, Medical Services & Chief Medical Officer said. “Save someone’s life this summer by scheduling a donation today.”
Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. Whether you are donating for the first time or a returning lifesaver, your action makes a significant impact.
Book an appointment by visiting communityblood.org, using the CBC Donor App or calling (800) 280- 4102.
