Appleton Downtown, Inc. (ADI) is excited to once again, bring the Light the Night Market, presented by Fox Communities Credit Union, to Downtown Appleton to round out the summer season. Appleton Downtown, Inc. transforms Downtown Appleton into an open-air market this Friday, August 22 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Performances by local artists and entertainers, local vendors, cultural performances, food trucks, hands-on activities, and more will fill College Avenue with excitement and fun! This event has no admission fee and is open to the general public. Food, beverages, and local, handmade goods are available for purchase. “The August Light the Night Market Market has a sports theme that we’re excited about!” said Abby Novak, Marketing Director for Appleton Downtown, Inc. “Our night markets are known in the community for having a high energy vibe. We believe the sports theme this time around will really add to the energy of this event. There will be a mini golf course, race cars on display, the Packers Band and more features that really lean into our theme,” said Novak.
Visitors will enjoy fun, hands-on activities throughout the Night Market, that are great for all ages. The Ferris Wheel and 65-feet long fun-slide are back! Mischief & Magic: LED Wall, face painting, balloon animals, sports-themed inflatables and obstacles sponsored by Fleet Farm, a pickleball court with Pickleball Kingdom and a rock-climbing wall with Odyssey Climbing + Fitness.
Other performers and activities on the street and in the plaza include appearances from local sports team mascots, including Ace (Green Bay Gamblers), Pointer (Wisconsin Herd),
Blu (Lawrence University) and Fang (Timber Rattlers), aerial performances by Fly Circus Aerial Arts sponsored by Edward Jones, projection and light show, and professional race cars on display. Performances on the state will include the Packer Band, Talk of the Town and Boomboxx.
