FOX VALLEY HUMANE ASSOCIATION PROVIDES EMERGENCY HOUSING FOR DOGS DISPLACED BY HISTORIC FLOODING

Activating resources as an Outagamie County Volunteer Organization Active in Disaster (VOAD)

Fox Valley Humane Association, a nonprofit animal shelter serving the Fox Valley region, is providing temporary housing and care for dogs belonging to families displaced by the recent flooding crisis in areas like Black Creek, WI. The effort ensures pets remain safe while their owners stay in hotels or shelters that do not accept pets.

Since the flooding began, Fox Valley Humane Association has welcomed a growing number of dogs and expects more arrivals as residents continue to feel the effects. FVHA is also collaborating closely with the Red Cross to provide essential supplies to area temporary shelters.

“Deepening our service to the Fox Cities remains a priority,” said Jon Kruse, Executive Director at Fox Valley Humane Association. “Contributing to local flood relief efforts is a direct reflection of our core mission.”

The shelter is calling on the community to help sustain these efforts. Donations of dog food, cleaning supplies, enrichment toys, and monetary contributions are urgently needed. The organization is also seeking foster homes for other dogs, freeing up more space in the shelter for housing displaced pets.

Right now, all monetary donations are being matched as part of the Paws and Petals Dog Walk campaign, funded by four local dog moms. Community members are encouraged to donate or register for the upcoming walk to maximize their impact.

To donate, sign up to foster/volunteer, or register for the walk, visit www.foxvalleypets.org or contact the organization directly.
