The Laundry Gal, in partnership with Whimsical Celebrations LLC and the Boys & Girls Club of Appleton, is hosting a K–12 Back-to-School Junior Clothing Swap on Saturday, August 10, 2025, from 9 AM to 4 PM at the Boys & Girls Club of Appleton (160 S Badger Ave).
The event offers a judgment-free, 1:1 clothing exchange—families bring in up to 15 gently used items, per kid, in youth sizes XS through juniors and take home what they need, no money required. It’s a sustainable, budget-friendly way for families to prep for the school year while keeping quality clothes in circulation.
“We know how expensive back-to-school season can get,” said Ravyn Heuer, owner of The Laundry Gal and event organizer. “This swap is about dignity, community, and helping families feel supported during a time that can be stressful and costly.”
Wolf River Community Bank has signed on as the event’s first official sponsor, helping to fund key resources and giveaways for attending families. Additional sponsors, volunteers, and donation partners are currently being accepted.
The event will also feature swag bags for early participants, and food will be available for purchase from invited local food trucks.
