Showcasing its commitment to nurturing talent and strengthening the local workforce, Hoffman Planning, Design & Construction, Inc. honors its century-plus-long legacy by building the next generation of leaders from the ground up.
Hoffman recently hired two of its former interns, Haley Grube and Pierson Potrykus, as full-time employees. Grube and Potrykus joined Hoffman full time earlier this summer, Grube as a designer, and Potrykus as a field engineer. The promotion of college interns to full-time employees has become standard practice at Hoffman.
“Investing in the right people is one of the most important things we do,” said Hoffman president and majority owner Sam Statz. “Watching Haley and Pierson grow through their internships and now join us as full-time Hoffman team members is a proud moment—both for them and for our entire team. It’s a reflection of the culture we’ve built and nurtured over time that values mentorship and learning, opportunities and growth, and achievement and fun. I am so happy to have them in our Hoffman family!”
Grube earned a Bachelor of Science degree in architecture from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She began working as a Hoffman intern during the summer of 2022. While interning, she had the opportunity to work on referendum projects for her high school alma mater, Chilton Public Schools. As a third-year intern, she also planned and designed a remodel of Hoffman’s own offices, which is currently underway and will be completed later this year.
Potrykus graduated from the Construction Management Technologies program at Fox Valley Technical College. He began interning with Hoffman in the fall of 2024. As a construction intern, Potrykus worked on numerous facility projects for the Appleton Area School District, including the new Sandy Slope Elementary School, which is scheduled to open in September.
