This summer, the Fox Cities Chamber is launching a new program especially for interns at area companies.
Launch: Summer Intern Series is an 8-week program designed to introduce interns to both workplace culture and the Fox Cities community. Through engaging sessions and networking opportunities, participants gain valuable insight into professional life while building connections that help them feel at home in the region.
Sessions will be held on Wednesday mornings, from 8-9:30 AM, from June 10 - July 29. Locations will be rotated depending on the topic, facilitators and hosts.
Class dates, topics and facilitators include:
• June 10: Kick-Off Event - Designing Your Internship; presented by Chelsy Cegielski, UW-Madison
• June 17: Adulting 101; presented by Dawn Grenzer-Stumpf, Miron Construction; Jennifer Van Thiel, Fox Valley Technical College; and Jeff Loberger, Fox Valley Lutheran High School
• June 24: Workplace Expectations & Soft Skills; presented by Christina Ropella, US Venture
• July 1: Civic Engagement & Giving Back; presented by Jake Woodford, City of Appleton Mayor; and Austin Hammond, City of Menasha Mayor
• July 8: Financial Literacy; presented by Abbie Blood, Community First Credit Union
• July 15: Networking Like a Pro; presented by Brian Ollech, Network Health
• July 22 (2 hours): Mock Interviews & Resume Reviews; presented by Becka Szczepaniec and Amber Micke, Capital Credit Union
• July 29: Leadership & Motivation; presented by Terry Wetzel, Summit Leadership
Cost for the series is $250 for members/$350 for non-members.
