Greater Fox Cities Area Habitat for Humanity, a leader in affordable housing solutions, is kicking off Rock the Block in Menasha, the first Rock the Block of 2026. The three-day event runs from Thursday, May 14-Saturday, May 16 and focuses on light home repairs, curb appeal improvements and community projects to improve and revitalize homes and neighborhoods. This year’s event is extra special as it celebrates the 25th Rock the Block event by Fox Cities Habitat.
“Rock the Block is a critical piece to maintaining home values in the Fox Cities,” said John Weyenberg, Greater Fox Cities Area Habitat for Humanity CEO. “The need for housing continues to rise and the cost for repairs does too. We need to maintain the homes we currently have, just as much as we need to build new affordable housing in the region. Rock the Block helps alleviate some of the financial stress homeowners face when it comes to home repairs while also increasing curb appeal and home values for communities.”
In the past 25 Rock the Block events, Fox Cities Habitat has:
· Improved 25 neighborhoods
· Worked on 674 projects
· Provided more than $1,500,000 worth of home repair work
The Rock the Block program brings together residents, municipalities and community partners to complete both residential and community-based projects, providing affordable home repairs and improving curb appeal. Updates include porch repairs, exterior repairs, painting and landscaping at private homes and in public spaces.
All work through this program is made possible through volunteers and community donations. Following Rock the Block events, people have expressed an increased level of pride in their neighborhood as well as a renewed friendship with fellow neighbors.
