Sr. Jane Herb, a member of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM) in Michigan, has joined the Religious team at Hoffman Planning, Design & Construction, Inc. As Hoffman’s newest Facilitation & Engagement Specialist, she offers a unique perspective on Hoffman’s planning efforts with religious communities and is well positioned to support religious projects across the country.
“We are thrilled to welcome Sr. Jane to our team,” said Julie Heiberger, Hoffman’s religious market leader and owner. “The insight and understanding that Sr. Jane brings with her will be a significant benefit to the congregations we assist. She is a well-respected religious leader and has a great deal of experience in the areas of congregational transitions and future planning.”
Sr. Jane received her doctorate from Boston College in Educational Administration. Her educational roles include high school math teacher, principal, associate superintendent, and superintendent of Catholic schools in the Diocese of Albany, N.Y., where she participated in strategic planning and collaborated with the school communities to strengthen their position in the future. She serves as a chairperson of the board at Marygrove Conservancy and completed 17 years as an adjunct instructor in the Mary Anna Remick Leadership Program at the University of Notre Dame, where she currently serves as an Executive Coach.
As a member of IHM, Sr. Jane served as president from 2012-2024. She also served as president of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR), as well as on the Finance and Audit Committee. From 2013-2017, Sr. Jane served on the Council of Delegates of the Union of International Superior Generals, as well as the board for the Resource Center for Religious Institutes (RCRI).
“I am excited to join Hoffman as they continue their work to assist congregations throughout the United States,” shared Sr. Jane. “It’s not every day you get an opportunity like this. I’m looking forward to helping congregations as they address future planning challenges, while remaining faithful to their founding charism and responding to God’s call to serve.”
Over the past 30+ years, Hoffman has been blessed to serve more than 60 religious congregations in 22 states.
