Appleton Downtown, Inc. (ADI), in coordination with the City of Appleton, is working to reschedule the Light the Night Market, originally planned for this evening, due to the forecast of severe weather, including wind gusts over 40 mph and potential thunderstorms. The event is planned to take place on Friday, May 30 from 5 – 10 p.m. in Downtown Appleton.
The decision was made with the safety of attendees, vendors, performers, and staff as the top priority. Weather conditions pose a significant risk to both people and event infrastructure, including tents, lighting, and electrical equipment.
"This decision did not come easily. We are dedicated to curating memorable experiences for the Downtown community and we will work diligently to make the May 30th event shine bright. Thank you to our sponsors and the City of Appleton for working with us to reschedule." said Jennifer Stephany, Executive Director of Appleton Downtown, Inc.
The rescheduled event on May 30 will still feature the excitement originally planned, including live music, food trucks, local vendors, hands-on crafts and family-friendly activities—all under the lights in the heart of Downtown Appleton.
Appleton Downtown, Inc. thanks the community for their understanding and continued support and looks forward to welcoming everyone to a safe and vibrant event later this month.
