North Shore Bank, today announced its seventeenth annual Race for the Hungry event at Menasha Piggly Wiggly, 1151 Midway Road, collected $1,479 in food to be donated to St. Joseph’s Food Program. Race for the Hungry is an annual community event that challenges participants in a head-to-head competition to support local food pantries.
Representatives from St. Joseph’s Food Program and the Fox Cities YMCA teamed up to race through the supermarket aisles to fill the pantry’s wish list. The winner received a $100 gift card and the runner-up received a $50 card. North Shore Bank donated the food collected during the race to the pantry, feeding local families in need.
“We’re proud to work with St. Joseph’s Food Program year-round to support their mission, but we’ve heard from our food pantry partners that this timing in particular is crucial for them as they restock pantry needs heading into spring,” said Lacee Kalepp, community engagement manager for the bank in the Fox Cities. “After over 100 years of being a community bank, we know that uplifting local organizations who are fulfilling great needs in our community, is where our focus is. We encourage everyone to do their part during this time and consider donating directly to St. Joseph’s Food Program.”
