Community members, school district representatives, and students attended a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, for the Shawano School District to kick off improvements to Hillcrest Primary School, Olga Brener Intermediate School, and Shawano Community Middle School.
The ceremony featured remarks from Superintendent Kurt Krizan, School Board Member Mike Musolff, and Jody Andres, Hoffman Planning, Design & Construction, Inc.’s K-12 Market Leader. The Shawano Middle School Band performed and students from the Shawano Hawks News Nest emceed the event.
The Shawano School District Referendum and its projects represent a significant milestone for the schools and the Shawano community. As part of the recently approved $51.2 million referendum for renovations and upgrades, these projects include improvements to academic buildings including a roof, heating and cooling systems, lighting, and electrical panels.
