As the holiday season kicks off, Appleton Downtown, Inc. invites the community to shop, dine, and explore local businesses during Small Business Saturday on November 29, 2025. This annual nationwide event, held the Saturday after Thanksgiving, highlights the vital role small businesses play in our community and the impact of shopping local.
As an added bonus to our loyal Downtown shoppers, Appleton Downtown, Inc. Is providing free street parking at the metered stalls. The parking ramps will also be free, courtesy of the City of Appleton. We hope free parking will encourage visitors to explore shops and restaurants with ease.
More than 60 local businesses will participate in the popular Shop Appleton First Passport Program. Each business will feature exclusive one-day discounts listed on the passport, giving shoppers a chance to discover new favorites and revisit beloved stores. Shoppers can collect a stamp at each participating business. When they’ve earned five stamps, they are eligible to enter for a chance to win prizes valued at over $3,500.
“Small Business Saturday has become a cherished tradition in Downtown Appleton,” said Abby Novak, Marketing Director at Appleton Downtown, Inc. “The passport program engages shoppers in a fun, interactive way to help them discover new shops while supporting the businesses that make our downtown unique.”
Passports are available in advance at participating retailers, the Appleton Downtown, Inc. office, select Fox Communities Credit Union branches, and the Fox Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau. Participants in the Santa Scamper Run and the Turkey Trot will also receive a passport in their run packet.
