The Civic Fox Introduces Civic Wayfinders, Featuring ‘Who Handles This?’ - a Civic Wayfinder Utility Built for the Fox Valley

The Civic Fox has added a new civic utility to help Fox Cities residents find better starting points for common civic and local-government questions.

Civic Wayfinders is a new section of The Civic Fox built around a simple problem: many residents know what they need help with, but not where to begin. The featured tool, “Who Handles This?”, helps point people toward the kind of public office, department, or local-government starting point that may be involved.

Instead of replacing official city, county, or agency pages, Who Handles This? is designed to help readers start in the right direction with less confusion. It is especially useful when someone is trying to understand whether a question may involve a city department, county office, school district, public records process, local board, clerk’s office, planning office, or another public-facing civic pathway.

This first version focuses on practical civic navigation: helping residents understand where to look, what kind of office may handle a matter, and how to begin without getting lost in multiple websites, unclear categories, or dead-end searches.

The Civic Fox is built around a simple idea: civic life should be easier to follow and participate in. Who Handles This? extends that mission by turning one common frustration — “Where do I even start?” — into a clearer path forward.

The Civic Wayfinders section also includes The Fox’s "Form Finder", a companion tool for helping residents locate better starting points for common forms, permits, applications, records, and civic-service information.

These tools are part of The Civic Fox’s broader work as a Fox Cities civic clarity resource, alongside plain-language explainers, source links, civic records, and selected local issue trails.
