UW-Oshkosh To Introduce Schweer At Press Conference

UW-Oshkosh will introduce new head men’s basketball coach Steve Schweer with a press conference on Tuesday (June 2) at 3 p.m.
The press conference will be held in lecture hall 1210 of Sage Hall (835 High Avenue) on the UW-Oshkosh campus.
The event will include remarks from UW-Oshkosh Chancellor Manohar Singh, Assistant Chancellor for Intercollegiate Athletics Darryl Sims and Schweer. Background information about Schweer, the 16th head coach in the 127-year history of the UW-Oshkosh men’s basketball program can be found in the hiring release, posted on May 22.
Schweer, who comes to Oshkosh from Illinois College, replaces Matt Lewis who announced his departure on March 31 following eight seasons at the helm. From 2019-26, Lewis led the Titans to a 141-62 (.695) overall record and a 66-35 (.653) mark in WIAC play. Oshkosh won the 2019 NCAA Division III championship and qualified for the national tournament four times (2019, 2020, 2022, 2023) while winning three WIAC regular season titles (2019, 2022, 2023) and a pair of WIAC Tournament crowns (2020, 2022).
UW-Oshkosh, 15-time WIAC regular season champion, five-time WIAC Tournament champion and 12-time Division III Championship qualifier, finished the 2025-26 campaign with a 17-9 record, going 8-6 against league opponents to reach the conference tournament.
The press conference will be broadcast live on the WIAC Network.
