Wisconsin State Tornado Drill

Wisconsin State Tornado Drill

April 16th, 2026

Wisconsin Severe Weather Awareness Week is April 13–17, 2026, Outagamie County Emergency Management is encouraging local businesses to participate in the State Tornado Drill on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 1:45 p.m. and 6:45 p.m.

The statewide tornado drill is an important opportunity for employers, staff, and visitors to practice how they would respond during severe weather. Taking part helps businesses review their sheltering procedures, identify any gaps in their plans, and reinforce the importance of being prepared before an actual warning occurs.

We encourage local businesses to participate by:

  • Reviewing their tornado and severe weather procedures
  • Identifying and communicating designated shelter areas
  • Practicing how employees and visitors would move to shelter
  • Confirming they have a reliable way to receive weather alerts and warnings
