Community members joined students, their families, and representatives from the Shawano School District and Hoffman Planning, Design & Construction, Inc. on Monday, Aug. 17, 2026, for a ribbon cutting ceremony to dedicate the new high school athletic complex. The ceremony, featuring remarks from Superintendent Kurt Krizan and School Board President Christine McKinnies, took place just less than a year since the groundbreaking ceremony last August.

The $21 million project, which touched 69,000 square feet of the facility’s interior and exterior, enhanced numerous areas and developed thoughtful spaces that will enable individuals of all abilities to not just participate, but to thrive.

Community members, school district representatives, and students attended a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, for the Shawano School District to kick off improvements to Hillcrest Primary School, Olga Brener Intermediate School, and Shawano Community Middle School.
